🌾🐄 Kindergarten Adventure at Johnny Wilson Farm! 🐖🌽
Our kindergarteners had the best time exploring Johnny Wilson Farm in Granite Falls, NC! This family-owned farm has been a community favorite for years, offering hands-on agricultural experiences for children and families alike. From visiting the animals 🐑🐔 to exploring the pumpkin patch 🎃 and learning about how crops are grown 🌱, our students got to see farm life up close and personal.
Not only did our students enjoy a fun fall field trip, but they also walked away with a deeper appreciation of where their food comes from and the hard work that goes into farming. ❤️
A huge thank you to Johnny Wilson Farm for hosting us and giving our kinders memories they’ll never forget! 🍂✨

Mrs. Baucom's kiddos worked hard on writing letters, numbers, reading texts, and answering questions before returning to class as the best of friends. 💙💛

📚✨ What an AMAZING night "Reading Under the Stars" at our Title I Curriculum and Reading Night.
It was filled with learning, laughter, and family fun! Families explored grade-level expectations, discovered ways to support learning at home, and—of course—shared the joy of reading together. ❤️
Thank you to our teachers, staff, and families who made this night so special. We love seeing our Shuford community come together to support our students’ success! ✨📚

We believe every child can grow and succeed, and are excited to keep the momentum for the 2025-26 school year! 🦉💛💙

Our Kinder Owls worked and played hard, sorting objects by their attributes! 💛💙

Our 5th-grade scholars show off their Human Body System projects, which included a slide presentation and a 3D model.

Our youngest Owls worked hard on their locomotor skills in PE! 🦉💛💙

In 4th grade, our students learn about the different types of rocks and minerals, as well as how they are formed. Shuford Owls got to be real geologists and dig up rocks to take home to study some more on their field trip to Emerald Gem Mine in Hiddenite. 🪨

🏴☠️ Ahoy, Mateys! Shuford Elementary Celebrates National Talk Like a Pirate Day! 🏴☠️
Shuford Elementary was transformed into a sea of pirates on Friday, September 19, as students and staff joined together to celebrate National Talk Like a Pirate Day! With eye patches, bandanas, and plenty of “Arrrghs,” our hallways echoed with laughter and pirate cheer.
From classrooms filled with treasure maps and word challenges to teachers greeting students with hearty “Ahoys,” the day brought learning and fun together in the most adventurous way. Students practiced their best pirate vocabulary, solved swashbuckling math problems, and even went on treasure hunts throughout the school.
We’re proud of our crew for making the day so memorable and for proving once again that learning can be an adventure worth sailing for. Shiver me timbers—it was a day to remember!
