Today, here at Shuford, we pause to remember September 11, 2001. We honor the lives lost, the courage of the first responders, and the strength of a Nation that came together in the face of tragedy. May we never forget. ❤️🤍💙

💰💸Dig in your couch cushions, under the car seats, and load up the ammo because it is time for PENNY WARS! Next week, September 15th-19th, our 5th grade will kick off their annual fundraiser to raise money for the overnight field trip to Camp Hanes in King, North Carolina. All funds raised will be deducted from the cost of camp for all attendees.

💣 Each classroom competes against the others (regardless of grade level)
💣 Students can bring in coins💰 OR bills💸
- Pennies are POSITIVE points (put in your class' bucket)
- Silver change and bills are NEGATIVE points (put in other class' bucket)
💣 Each morning, students will have a designated amount of time to "play" schoolwide.
💣 Points will be calculated daily so that students know who to "attack" on an upcoming day.

We are excited to welcome Pre-K back to Shuford. Please keep in mind that drop-off and pick-up procedures for these students are different than K-5. Parents who do not have a Pre-K student should only drop off their child in the car rider line beginning at 7:45 am. Pre-K parents, please follow the appropriate procedures that were shared specifically with you. Contact Mrs. Powell with any questions.

We are so excited to kick off the 2025-2026 school year TOMORROW.
Here are a few reminders about arrival and dismissal:
- Students may begin entering the building at 7:45 a.m. Students arriving in the car line should wait for an adult to be present outside before exiting their vehicle.
- Kindergarten parents are allowed to walk their child(ren) in on their first staggered entry day.
- Dismissal will begin at 3:20 p.m. Please communicate with your child and their teacher(s) how they will go home on the first day of school.
🚘 Car rider parents- please have your child’s number displayed so that it can be easily read and pull all the way down to help keep the traffic moving when you are approaching the building to pick up your child. Returning students will have the same number throughout their time at Shuford, and siblings should all have the same number. If your child(ren) has unique transportation situations or was given a number different than an older sibling, please contact Ms. Rozzelle at (828) 464-1973.
🚍 Bus rider parents- please be patient during the first week with arrival times during pick-up and drop-off. It is important that you are at your stop at least 15 minutes before your pick-up time and that someone is present to meet the bus at drop-off.

This year, we have a new student information system, Infinite Campus. Unfortunately, Infinite Campus left off a few questions. Please take a few minutes to answer these questions for each child attending Shuford Elementary.
