To prioritize staff and student safety, Shuford Elementary will be closed for students tomorrow, Friday, January 30th. This day will not be made up because we have extra hours within the calendar. Additionally, all Kid Connection sites will be closed.

The 3rd–5th Grade Dance, originally scheduled for January 30th, has been moved to February 6, 2026.
If you’ve already paid and are unable to attend on the new date, please contact shufordpto@gmail.com for a refund.

Mrs. Warren’s 5th graders are putting on their scientist hats as they explore the Law of Conservation of Matter! 🔬✨ Through hands-on activities and thoughtful discussions, students are discovering that matter isn’t created or destroyed—it just changes form.
Mrs. White’s 5th graders are putting their scientist hats on! 🧪⚡ Through hands-on experiments, students are exploring conductors and insulators, testing materials, making predictions, and discovering how thermal energy moves.
Mrs. King’s 1st graders are getting hands-on with measurement during WIN time! 📏🐧 One of their stations has students using penguins as nonstandard units to measure their classmates. Learning is extra fun when math is interactive, engaging, and full of smiles!

🍿Help support 4th-grades field trip to Raleigh with Popcorn & Pixie Stix
Mrs. Higdon’s kindergarteners enjoyed listening to the story, The Mitten, and brought it to life with a fun, hands-on activity! 🧤📘 Students decorated their own mittens, colored the animals from the story, and created a special craft they can use to retell the story. What a creative way to build comprehension and storytelling skills! 💜
Mrs. Whiteheart’s 4th-grade class jumped back into learning with fun math review games! 🧮🎉 Students practiced skills learned before break by playing Extreme Tic-Tac-Toe and building the Tallest Tower—collaborating, thinking critically, and having a great time while sharpening their math skills!

If the ad exceeds the character limit, editors reserve the right to edit it as they see fit.
