Hi there! My name is Sharon Warren.
I am a true North Carolina Native; born, raised, educated, and always lived in the "Tarheel State". My return to Hickory comes after a five-year move to Sunset Beach, now that my two sons have graduated college and settled in Western NC, I want to spend more time with them and their growing families. My husband, Paul, and I enjoy loving our fur baby, Buster, now that they are grown.
Teaching is my second career, but it has always been my first love. After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill, I worked as the Director of Operations for a furniture company before starting in the teaching profession. I attended Lenoir Rhyne College to obtain certification for teaching high school mathematics, later added elementary to my certification, and have enjoyed teaching third grade for the last few years. I earned a master’s degree in Reading from Appalachian State University to enhance my mathematics background and became a National Board-Certified Teacher in Literacy in 2013.
I am excited to join the Newton-Conover City Schools System and especially the Shuford community. I look forward to working with new staff members and families alike to create a better future for us all.
