Dr. Amanda Worley, currently serving as an assistant principal for Newton-Conover City Schools in Conover, North Carolina at Conover School and Shuford Elementary. Conover School serves students ages 3 to 22, grades pre-K through high school. All students have an intellectual disability, and their needs are met through an individualized IEP. Dr. Worley performs a variety of supportive and supervisory tasks for both schools. In addition, she assists the Exceptional Children’s director with grant writing, policy and procedures, teacher needs, and serving the students in the exceptional needs program to meet their functional and academic needs. Dr. Worley is the National Board Coordinator for Newton-Conover, supporting all teachers completing the process.Before coming to N-CCS, she served as the Curriculum Coordinator/North Carolina State Improvement Project Coordinator for Davie County Schools. She worked in Iredell-Statesville schools as a Curriculum Specialist, NCSIP Coordinator, Assistive Technology Coordinator, Extend I testing coordinator, Program Specialist, and taught in an exceptional children’s classroom. Dr. Worley has a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education K-12 Cross Categorical with a minor in Psychology from Appalachian State University. In addition, she completed her Master’s degree in Special Education K-12 Cross Categorical at Appalachian State University. Dr. Worley achieved her National Board Certification and Renewal of the Certification. She then completed her Ed.S. and Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Wingate University. She currently resides in Statesville, NC.
